Ramification. Eine Ausstellung zur zeitgenössischen Landschaftsarchitektur

Vernissage: 20 April 2024 from 17:00 / Exhibition: 21 April to 07 July 2024

Ramification

The exhibition highlights the potential of ramification as a systemic tool to understand the anatomy of a single plant as well as the structure of landscapes.

„Ramification“ is the ability to develop a branching structure: at the small scale of the plant and its aerial functions structuring a tree into trunk, branches and twigs and roots, but also on the large scale of the wider landscape in the context of a watershed for instance. Ramification is used here as a metaphor, allowing not only to understand the anatomy of a plant but also the structure of landscape.
The show sheds light on the potential of the metaphor of ramifications as a systemic tool allowing to read and act upon broad territories. The exhibition displays the work of selected contemporary European landscape architects and urbanists who are working at territorial scale to develop network of open spaces, striving to create bridges between otherwise disconnected ecologies and territories and to shape resilient landscape in our area of climate change, ecological collapse and mass extinction.
